Black Labrador Retriever

I’d Like to Register My Black Labrador Retriever as a Stud, but I Cant Seem to Find Any Info on the Akc Site?

Saturday, March 12th, 2011

He’s not ready to breed yet, but he has very very good genealogy and many champions in his family. He’s the type of dog that could help to improve the quality his breed so I’m very interested in him being a part of that. Does anyone know how to go about doing the stud registration?

You get in touch with your local all breed kennel club, and look up Labrador Retriever Club of Los Angeles, or America or whatever town, city, state your in. They may be nice to you, but most will laugh at you, if your dog has not been health tested and doesn’t have his conformation championship. Because there are so many dogs to choose from that do have those things! Show him at a couple of shows and ask the Judge after wards, if he is of show quality. Be prepared, they don’t sugar coat anything, and unless he is from one of the top kennels, the answer will probably be NO! Labrador’s are very competitive in the dog show world, and there are a heck of a lot of GREAT ones, that have gone BIS, and have already sired 30 or more champions, that is what good breeders are looking for. The dogs "track" record. Otherwise, it is another Backyard Breeder, trying to cash in on their poor dog!

My 8 Month Old Black Labrador Retriever Is VERY Missed Behaved and Be Still Bits. Is This Normal?

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

When we bought our dog we knew labs were a very active dog. Our dog , Jake, is 8 months old now and he’s still very missed behaved. He climbs things bites ( not hard but it still hurts ) steals stuff and brakes every thing. We love him and he’s perfectly potty trained and stuff but is this biting and other stuff normal?
Please help

This is normal for a dog who hasn’t had proper training. Have you considered taking obedience classes to help you know how to deal with your dog?

What is the main difference between these 2 breeds ? ( I am talking about female dogs )
which is more placid, more docile, more loyal, easier to train, more eager to please and friendlier.

What Is a Good Name for a Mellow, Blind, Male, Black Labrador Retriever? Please No Common Names. Thanks?

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Getting him by October 29.
He has many problems (bow legged, messed up hips, underweight) but he’s so loving; that’s why were rescuing him. He’s between 1-2 years old. I already have a 2 1/2 year old yellow Lab named Hunter. And I’ve tried every, and I mean every, dog-names site. I need the perfect name for my not so perfect guy.

You hit the nail on the head.

Guy

I say "Guy" is perfect because I know of a 12 yr old boy that has buck teeth, is mentally handicapped, is very loving, enjoys the simple things in life, and just wants to be loved. Your "Guy" will have loving, permanent home whereas mine is a foster child in a special needs home.

I would also add "Saint Germaine" to the end of his name. Saint Gemaine is the Patron Saint of the disabled.

He would be Guy Saint Germaine.
