Taking on a Rescue Pedigree Black Labrador?

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

A colleague has asked me to take her friend 3 year old black labrador… free of charge.

It has not been wormed, chipped or spayed or had flea treatment

However an interferring colleague said that I should pay for it seen as I am rescuing the dog. But I thought that if it is a pedigree, it should have all those things done to it as standard.

Am I wrong?

Obviously the friend didnt look after the dog, hence wanting it to be adopted. If you are interested in rescuing him, just take him and get him his boosters, wormer and chip. Your local shelter might be able to help you. If you bring him in and tell them you have rescued him from neglecting owners and you want to keep him but you are looking for some help with the initial costs,. they might even give him his vaccinations to help you out.

Best of luck

Will My Black Labrador Get a Long With My New 3 Month Old Jack Russel Terrier?

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

My black lab is a little aggressive although he has gotten along with most dogs (including the other dogs I have). How will I know if he can get along with a pup of a new breed? Will he get Along with my new pup?

right i had a similar problem and it led to my bulldog trying to kill my baby staffie if you think or know your lab is aggressive then i would make the puppy pack leader ie having him on the sofa with you holding the lab and making him watch the puppy eat might help but when there aggressive its hard for them to deal with a puppy what i wouldent do is have the lab and pup on the sofa together other way is getting proffesional help or really consider not bringing a puppy into your pack anyways good luck you sound like you have your hands full already!!

What Is the Maximum Height and Weight for Black Labrador Retrievers ?

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

If you buy a Black Labrador Retriever when they are 10 weeks old and you feed them properly how tall and how heavy they will be by 3 years of age ?

The dogs coat color has nothing to do with it’s size. That is pretty obvious. Breed standards are Nothing but an " ideal, show quality requirement. Every dog in every breed can vary from the standard. Expect ANYTHING. I have seen registered labs anywhere from 40 pounds to over 120 pounds.

Where Can You Get Decent Black Labrador Puppies in Ct?

My Budget is under 200, I need a best friend so i’m not lonely anymore, and i will love it with all my heart.

they take a lot of work, correct training, food, exercise and play time to become your best friend. they are not your best friend when they come home from the breeder and will certainly not be your best friend when they are peeing and pooing on your floor and whilst you are cleaning that up running around with your underwear and chewing things that belong to you. when the dog is around 2 it will settle down and then you will have that bond so i would also recommend a shelter dog. im sure it will love you as much as you love him/her. you dont have a lot to spend so a shelter dog would cost less and already be spayed/neutered and have all its vaccs which is a bonus.
there is almost something special about a rescue dog as it feels like its been given a second chance so it will probably love you more than a puppy!

What Should I Call My Black Labrador Female Puppy?

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I am getting an adorable black labrador retreiver but I don’t know what to call her.
I want to call her a real name so not something like bubbles or Jet.
I’m also quite keen on cartoon characters but i can’t think of any female cartoon characters with a good name.
Please list any ideas you have and don’t worryabout them being a little loopy!

What about Ebony…………
