Where Can You Get Decent Black Labrador Puppies in Ct?

websites would be helpful. price range of $200. i think they are adorable and i really want one. i have a name picked out and everything. i am responsible and love to train dogs. i am absolutely willing to contribute to the wellness of the dog. thanx.
thank you for adding websites to your answers. also, for the price range i was talking about $200 and up. i forgot to add that before. thanks, again.

Here are two Lab rescues that have many pure bred black labs that need to be rescued. Adopt a Lab and save a life. Labs are one of the most overbred dogs in America. Lots of people buy a lab, and didn’t know that a big dog needs daily exercise, training, etc. A Lab like any dog is a big responsibility, but the rewards are greater if you put in the daily time with your new best friend. If you adopt or buy, remember its your responsiblity to provide your dog with a forever loving home matter if you become poor or rich, have to move, go to college, have a baby, etc. You must keep your best friend. Its like a child, you don’t throw it away or give it away when times get hard, you make it work. You are your dog’s guardian angel, so be a real angel and provide a forever loving home, that includes daily exercise and training classes, lives in the home, etc.

If you want a "decent" Labrador you need to look for REPUTABLE breeders. And you won’t find one at $200 either - try $800+ for a puppy.

There are tons of backyard breeders of Labs (since its #1 dog in popularity) and 99% of those dogs should never be bred. They are not tested for HD and other genetic problems, they are overbred and over size too - very poor quality.

If you can only afford $200, I strongly suggest you just go to a shelter and adopt a Lab or Lab mix and train it. There are many purebred Labs sitting in shelters.

Well, that depends on if you want a pure bred lab. If you will accept a mix, it is always best to get one at a shelter. Those dogs are so loyal and sweet because they truly appreciate being saved. I honestly don’t think there are any animals quite like the ones from a shelter. Aside from that, there is a great website called puppyfinder.com where you can type in your location and breed choice and it will show breeders in your area. Be sure you have the time and patience to give a puppy, as they are like having babies, a lot of work, but well worth it if you have the time. I recommend doing a lot of research on the breed and caring for a puppy before actually purchasing one. That way you are prepared. There are supplies you will need to have ready for when you take him home, most importantly a crate, collar, leash and food. Good luck! Labs are beautiful and sweet dogs!

$200 is not going to get you a decent labrador, all you will get is a crappy puppy from an even crappy breeder (aka puppy mills and bybs). Now you may get lucky and find a puppy in rescue for that price. But not a decent puppy from a respectable breeder.

But here is the national breeder referral http://www.thelabradorclub.com/subpages/breeder_search_results.php?cri=bystate

    And look 3 in CT.

200 will get you a shelter or rescue dog that’s about it. As common as the breed is a well bred pup is still going to cost you at minimum 7-800 bucks.
